TRANSMISSION SPECTRUM OF LIGHT RAYS.
Double panels light transparence is reaching up to 87% and such a high charateristic is not reducing even after a long time operation. Hard ultraviolet radiation (range less than 390 manometers) harmful to a human, equipment, do not penetrates the panel practically. The transmission of useful rays is optimal. The transmission of the rays, being in infared band of spectrum (5000nm) through cellular polycarbonate is minimal. So the heat radiated by objects inside the shielded room stays in creating a "greenhouse effect" which is an additional advantage of using this material as a cover for greenhouses, orangeries, wintergardens, etc. All kinds of cellular polycarbonate panels favorably scatter light, repeatedly penetrating light rays from all surfaces (upper layer, ribs, lower layer).
Cellular polycarbonate air gap is an excellent heat insulator. Even the most polycarbonate delicate panels (4 mm) have insulation characterics up to 4 times higher than ones of a simple glazing. Herewith cellular polycarbonate constructions are not fragile and are not weighfy what makes them easy to install.
Cellular polycarbonate falls into B1 category - hardly flammable materials. It burns in open flame only and is selfextinguishing. Cellular polycarbonate is not a fire spreading material. When burning it does not form droplets, forming light filaments only which are to cool down before the fall. In addition the polycarbonate when burning is not accompanied by toxic substances release.
RESISTANCE TO EXTREME WEATHER AND CLIMATIC CONDITIONS.
Cellular polycarbonate may be used under the temperatures from minus 50 up to plus 120oC keeping all the mechanical and optical properties even at extreme temperatures. The panels are able to withstand significant snow and wind loads. However it’s known that polycarbonate is not resistant to solar radiation. There are two methods of harmful ultraviolet effects eliminating: either UV stabilizers introduction directly to the content or by clear lacquer UV-stabilizing layer application. The second method is the most effective one. For external use cellular polycarbonate manufacturers are producing panels with mandatory protective layer. Practice shows that cellular polycarbonate panels as a roofing material may be used for more than 20 years.
